On the weekend of the 27th & 28th July 2024 we are bringing a large number of stitchers to have a weekend of stitching, fun, laughter and some education.
The Big Hall at Magna Science Adventure is 2,000 sq meters of space and we aim to have 3 sections; Stitching area, Vendor area and Catering area.
The Stitching room will open at the following times;
• Saturday @ 09.00 and will close no later than 22.00 (10pm).
• Sunday @ 09.00 and finish at 17.00 (5pm).
Guests will be required to go through a check-in line before entering the Stitching Room to get your name badge. Guests will be required to wear their name badge at all times.
THIS IS A TICKETED EVENT.
Your ticket will include 2 days stitching, buffet lunch both days, tea and coffee all weekend (evening meal on Saturday is not included);
1. £170 for the full weekend, paid in full at the time of booking.
OR
2. £170 (instalments), details will be eamiled on receipt of booking request
We will be prioritising weekend tickets, however, day tickets may be offered on special request.

Confirmation of Ticket
We aim to get confirmation of tickets to everyone as soon as we can (hopefully within a week).
1. You will receive an email confirming you have a ticket.
2. The email will include an invoice with payment details and due date.

Our weekend will start with introductions; the sponsors, our guest designer, the market place and welcoming everyone to the 1st Big Stitch.
Jacob as our Guest Designer from Modern Folk Embroidery will be with us all weekend and aims to run an exclusive class and Q&A sessions.
We aim to have a schedule of classes throughout the weekend. We hope you understand these details are yet to be firmed up but our discussions are currently around the following workshops; framing, lacing and speciality stitches.
We are happy to consider any suggestions you might have.
We also want to make your weekend special with access to exclusive patterns, fabrics and kits. These will be promoted and offered through the Facebook Group. We will also be doing a door prize each day, a digital Finishes Wall to celebrate our finishes and thinking about logistics for some sort of swop.

We aim to setup a Closed group for attendees. This will be a place for you to all share your excitement, let us know where you’re coming from, what projects you might be bringing etc.
We also aim to offer Event Exclusives such as designs, kits, boxes and potentially merchandise. This will all be promoted on this group.

Magna – Science Adventure Centre
This is a unique location with an amazing event space.

This is perfectly located in the heart of the UK, close to Sheffield and just five minutes from the M1 motorway. This former steelworks is now an award winning science adventure attraction.
As one of the North of England’s leading conference and event centres Magna offers a great location with fantastic links to the national and international transport network.
The venue has WiFi facilities as well as a Café, Tuck Shop and Bar.
We are aiming to have up to 20 vendors at the event depending on capacity requirements. The Vendor space will be open at set times during the weekend, these details will be confirmed nearer the event.
Vendors have registered interest and we are working with them to confirm their requirements.
We want to ensure guests have flexibility and diversity in the Vendor offerings so please bear with us.
Magna offers unrivalled catering and the team will provide us with amazing menu choices in line with your requirements.
Both days we are offering a hot and cold buffet lunch plus a tea and coffee station.
The team make the most of locally sourced ingredients.
We are unable this far in advance to give you more details but please rest assured that we will cater for any dietary requirements.
By Train
Magna is 5 minutes from Sheffield and 18 minutes from Doncaster train station.
The most convenient train stations to use are Rotherham Central, Sheffield and Meadowhall.
By Coach
National Express coaches service Sheffield Interchange and Meadowhall. You can then get the X1 bus to Magna from these locations.
By Foot
Located at Magna Way, Rotherham, S60 1FD with pedestrian access available from Sheffield Road, Rotherham S60 1DX.
By Car
Magna has approximately 400 car parking spaces available on-site free of charge.
Magna Way, Rotherham, S60 1FD.
If you are travelling using a sat nav then the postcode S60 1FD will bring you on to Magna Way, after which Magna is the big, black building straight ahead.
From the M1 take Junction 33 if you are travelling from the south and Junction 34 if you are travelling from the north. Magna is about one mile from Meadowhall Shopping Centre.
We understand that some people are travelling a distance for this event so may require hotel accommodation.
We have put together a PDF document detailing 7 hotels in the area which are close to the venue. This document also includes public transport from the hotel to the venue.
We have contacted the hotels and it isn’t possible to book rooms at this time but room bookings for Summer 2024 should be available early Summer 2023.
